Microgate Start Pad is a pressure-sensitive floor plate designed to capture precise start signals when a traditional photocell isn’t practical. Ideal for testing and training environments, it reliably detects an athlete’s take-off regardless of start direction.
Compatible with all Microgate stopwatches, the Start Pad can be connected by cable or wirelessly via the Microgate LinkGate system. Depending on stopwatch settings, it can operate as either a normally open or normally closed contact, offering flexible integration across different timing setups.
For advanced analysis, the Start Pad can also be paired with a Polifemo Light Radio photocell to calculate reaction times. In this configuration, the photocell acts as the start signal, allowing the system to measure the time between the audio cue and the athlete’s actual movement from the pad.
